The majority of D1 collegiate and professional athletes have access to a trained sport psychologist to help their athletes identify, avoid and overcome mental mistakes. The Driven Academy is partnering up with MentalSide Sport and Exercise Performance to offer your athlete the same opportunity.

Jason's Mental Performance Training is a six-week educational program designed to cover:

  • Goal Setting
  • Positive Self-Talk
  • Mental Imagery
  • Relaxation
  • Refocus / Concentration Routines

And more! All designed to help athletes perform better under pressure and develop a positive mental outlook that is essential to their success.

  • Classes meet once per week for 6 weeks
  • Each class is 30-40 minutes in length
  • Class size is limited to provide focused learning

About the Instructor

M.S. Kinesiology-Sport and Exercise Psychology
Jason is originally from Beatrice, NE and competed for in the Orangeman in Track and Cross-Country. Jason Obtained an athletic scholarship to the University of Sioux Falls, where he competed for the Cougars for one season and received all conference honors. Jason later transferred to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he majored in Psychology and minored in athletic coaching. While in Lincoln, Jason coached at Lincoln Southwest High School, Park Middle School, and was the physical activity specialist for Lincoln Parks and recreation.

In graduate school, Jason attended Western Washington University and received his Master’s degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in sport and exercise psychology. While at WWU, Jason was the Graduate Assistant/Volunteer Coach for both the Division II Track and Cross-Country teams. While obtaining his Master’s degree, Jason worked alongside many of the university’s club teams and served as a mental strength coach for other varsity and club athletes at Western.

Jason currently runs his own sport psychology and exercise adherence business in Lincoln, Nebraska (Mind Side) and wants to help further the athletic development of Lincoln’s area youth sports teams and athletes. Jason has over six years of experience working with youth, high school, and collegiate level athletes.

Special Event FAQ's

  • When are special events available?
    Special events are offered at various times throughout the year. Be sure to check our Clinics page for the complete list. Some special events are a one-time opportunity, but others may be offered at a couple of different times. We try to make all the options clear on this page, but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call for more information.
  • How are special events scheduled?
    Special events can be scheduled online through our website, in person at the facility, or by phone 402-464-0100. You can even send an email to info@thedrivenacademy.com and we'll call you to schedule.
  • Are special events refundable?
    Terms for early cancellation may vary per event, as some of these events utilize third party instructors who have their own policies. Any special event produced in-house by the Driven is by default, refundable up to 48 hours prior to the event. All special events are non-refundable once the event has begun.
  • Can I attend at different times?
    Normally no; we ask that you attend at your normally scheduled time. However, if for some reason you are unable to attend during your normal time slot, please give us a call and we will see if we can accommodate you at an alternate time.
